In this guide, we’ll be showing you how to make tailwind elusive two-toned boots in Path of Exile.
Approximate Cost
Depending on the current time into the league and prices of Awakener Orb’s and bases, this could cost up to 7 Exalted Orbs or more.
Crafting Guide
1. Buy an Item Level 75 Hunter Boot Base
We need an item level 75 boot base with hunter influence in order to roll the “Tailwind” modifier, we will be destroying the boots when we combine them using the Awakener’s Orb so it does not matter what type it is. You can find the hunter base-type search here.
Note: It may be cheaper to buy a base with Tailwind already on, do NOT buy a base with two influence modifiers on as this will not work with the Awakener’s Orb!
2. Buy an item level 83+ two-toned boots with Redeemer influence
Typically Redeemer bases are cheaper than hunter, so we’ll be using them for our final base. You can either buy the boot with the influence as it is or you can buy a redeemers orb and slam it onto a non-influenced two-toned boot base with item level 83, whichever option is cheaper.
Note: It may be cheaper to buy a base with Elusive already on, do NOT buy a base with two influence modifiers on as this will not work with the Awakener’s Orb!
3. Apply Perfect Fossils on Two-Toned base for 27% Quality
Grab some perfect fossils and apply them to the Two-Toned base only, do this until you have a quality you’re happy with, we recommend 27% or higher.
4. Alteration Spam or Buy the Modifier
When it comes to getting the modifiers ready, first and foremost check to see if there are any cheap bases with the modifier on them already available on trade for cheap. These boots must only contain ONE Redeemer or Hunter modifier, which will be the one you need, this is because the Awakener’s Orb can only guarantee one influenced modifier per item.
Once you’re ready, start using alterations to look for the modifiers on the boots, for Hunter we require “You have Tailwind if you have dealt a critical strike recently”:
The Hunter’s Tailwind ModifierFor Redeemer, we require “#% chance to gain Elusive on Critical Strike”:
The Redeemer’s Elusive Modifier
5. Awakener’s Orb
Next, we need to get our Awakener’s Orb to combine the two crafts together, make sure you use the Awakener’s Orb on the item you are DESTROYING first, apply the orb to the base of the Two-Toned boot and you’ll receive something similar to this:
Tailwind Elusive boots after an Awakening OrbThe modifiers you will receive are completely random, usually, the following mods are worth a lot during a league:
Tier 1-3 Movement Speed
Tier 1 Maximum Life
Tier 1 Any Resistance
If you have an open prefix I would always recommend crafting movement speed from the crafting bench, this is by far the most valuable modifier your boots can have.
